Incorporating science of reading research, our Close Reading for Meaning approach uses genre as an inroad to support students in making meaning from text. Give students the tools to distill both the literal and deeper meaning of any text using their initial understanding as the anchor for further analysis.

This workshop is designed for leaders and teachers who are new to the Close Reading for Meaning method.

During this introductory workshop, participants will learn the Math for Meaning method, an approach that has proven to rapidly increase student achievement and confidence in mathematics using contextual mathematics to provide real-world context. Using context as a gateway to comprehension, teachers and leaders gain an in-depth understanding of the structure and purpose of problem-solving math blocks, ensuring you are well-prepared to implement these strategies effectively in teaching practice.

Who Should Attend:

This workshop is designed for teachers and leaders who are new to the Lavinia Group Story Problems method. Participants will be broken out by grade band to ensure content is practical and highly relevant.
